Saadiyat island-A canvas for life

Saadiyat Island is a $27 billion project with mixed commercial, residential, and leisure. It is currently under construction and it is expected to be completed in 2018. Saadiyat Island is aimed to be Abu Dhabi’s cultural center, and it has been planned around an “eco-sensitive philosophy with a special low density masterplan”.
Saadiyat Island (translated “Island of Happiness”) which is situated off the north coast of Abu Dhabi occupies an area of 27 square kilometers. There should be place for 150,000 residents with all the amenities that go with them.
Just 700m off the coast of Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Island is poised to become a truly special place. A timeless place born out of collective inspiration, Saadiyat will be a destination experience of rich depth and diversity, uncommon in our modern world.
In its essence, Saadiyat is a multi-faceted island destination offering a great variety of attractions to many different people. Saadiyat Island is just seven minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi, 15 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport and one hour from Dubai. It will be reached by two major highway bridges linking it with the mainland
